Back in the summer of 2019, Damini Roy got the chance to experience the magic of the Thar desert in India firsthand at House of Rohet. Nestled in the midst of an Indian summer in the desert, she was able to appreciate the gentleness of flowers that bloomed against the arid backdrop and this inspired her to search for splashes of colour in the scenery. A year later, this journey has become a metaphor for her life. Damini reminds herself to seek the colour in the grey hues of “everyday life”, stay grounded in gratitude to all the simple pleasures of life and to keep discovering new adventures along the way.
How we created it?
Inspired by her photographs of the architecture, we also contrasted it with Damini's personal drawings and handwritten poem to compose a piece that can also be hung as an artwork.
